CGL Facades land contract to manufacture cladding for Manor Place Depot
CGL Facades are delighted to announce that they have won the contract to design and manufacture cladding for the extensive redevelopment of Manor Place Depot, London.
CGL were awarded the contract from H A Marks Ltd who will be installing the effective cladding system that CGL are manufacturing. CGL’s Alucobond ACM Vertical Traypanel system has been chosen for this project in the colour anthracite. As well as offering weather protection and producing a striking appearance, our renowned Traypanel system also increases the buildings energy efficiency by improving insulation for the building’s occupants. The programme for this development indicates that we will be manufacturing the cladding from now until early November.
Before the site was bought by Notting Hill Genesis in 2013, the underused area included office buildings, a former waste transfer station, old coroner’s court with an adjoining mortuary and a Grade II listed bath house dating back to 1898. The large site is split into two sections by a railway viaduct and the plan is to re-open the railway arches to create further commercial spaces.
The mixed use development in Elephant and Castle will include 270 new homes and new commercial spaces. As well as creating new homes they also look to restore the historical treasures on site, proving just how important the areas heritage is. The stunning Grade II listed bath house and wash house will be refurbished and former coroner’s court will be retained at the front however demolished at the back.
We look forward to keeping you updated on the progress with this ambitious development however in the meantime click here
