Merson Group were engaged by principal contractor Morgan Sindall to deliver on numerous elements of the building environment including signage and both internal and external cladding. Our rainscreen façade business CGL Facades was the first to work on the project – supplying and installing the external cladding system that consisted of ACM Rainscreen and expanded mesh panels. Following on from this stage of the project our involvement was extended to include internal expanded mesh and external signage for the College and Sports Hall.
The unique organisation of the college around a central atrium creates a light and open space. Unlike most traditional school buildings there are no corridors; instead the school is designed around Danish school models, allowing a large proportion of unstructured teaching with a high level of connectivity. This layout of the building’s interior was complimented by the expanded aluminium mesh panels and acoustic barrier that CGL Facades installed to the internal walls, level 1, 2 & atrium. This comprised RW5 Acoustic insulation with black fabric face, all faced with 2mm powdercoated aluminium mesh with an aluminium edge finishing trim.
Our project manager was then invited to discuss signage requirements for the college and sports hall, to be delivered by our sign manufacture and implementation business Merson ASG. The external signage to the Main Entrance & Sports Hall Entrance was fabricated from brushed stainless steel, with the letters 1000mm & 600mm high.
With the project now complete, it presents an example of how Merson Group can deliver multiple elements of your next construction or retail project – providing you, the client, with consistency of delivery and reduced risk.
